Summer Studio programs ongoing at Madison Arts Barn
MADISON — There is still time to take advantage of author/illustrator Sanna Stanley’s minicamps in visual arts and creative writing for children at Summer Studio at the Madison Arts Barn, 8 Campus Drive.
This program is a partnership with the Madison Arts Barn and Madison Beach & Rec.
The remaining workshops include Drawing Pictures, Telling Tales, August 16-19 from 10:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. ($140); Picture Craft and Word Play, Guided Studio, August 16-19, from 1:30-4:30 p.m. ($140). For families, there is a Storytelling Workshop with a Grandparent, Wednesday and Thursday from 1-3 p.m. ($55).
Stanley, who was awarded the title Master Teaching Artist by the Commission on the Arts in 1999, has been working with children in Connecticut schools on creative literacy ever since. She has a master of fine arts in Visual Essay from The School of Visual Arts, and a master’s in painting and drawing from Marshall University. She is an award-winning author/illustrator (including the local Tassy Walden New Voices in Children’s Literature) with five published books.
