CONNECTICUT MAG BEST BET: 'Looking Back at Greenwich Weddings'
From www.connecticutmag.com
The styles change over the decades, but the romance remains eternal in the new exhibit “From This Day Forward: Looking Back at Greenwich Weddings” at the Greenwich Historical Society. The exhibit covers a lot of ground, from simple Colonial-era home nuptials to today’s big tent-and-limo shows, but many of the vintage photos, costumes and objects summon up the sort of well-moneyed perfection that Greenwich seems to specialize in.
Monday brings a lecture on the subject, “Something Old, Something New: The Origins of Wedding Rituals and Traditions” by Alden O’Brien, curator of costume and textiles at the DAR Museum in Washington, D.C. Brunch will be served. Call 203-869-6899 or visit greenwichhistory.org.
