NEW HAVEN — Megabus.com, an express bus company that travels between certain cities for as low as $1, announced Tuesday it will begin daily service to and from Union Station starting Aug. 17.
The company will offer four daily departures from Union Station and customers are now able to book tickets.
The city will be part of a Boston-Hartford-New Haven route. To celebrate the expansion, Megabus.com is offering 1,000 free seats on that route for travel between Aug. 17 and Sept. 17. To take part in the promotion, riders should enter the code HART1K when booking their tickets at the website; tickets are subject to availability on select dates and routes.
DATTCO Coach & Tour Group will operate the New Haven route under a partnership arrangement.
Megabus.com, a subsidiary of Coach USA, launched in April 2006 and has served more than 10 million travelers, according to company officials.
