A Q House Community Forum, at which youth leaders with a new nonprofit called Speak Life! will discuss their reasons for wanting to reopen the building, which for 80 years served as a refuge and safe place. In Branford, environmental experts have said there is no need to worry about contamination on the 77-acre Tabor Drive property, which the Public Works Building Committee recently recommended as the new location for the Public Works Department. However, town officials, who condemned the property near a former landfill, rather than allow a housing development on it, have acknowledged the landfill was polluting part of the site.
